Lunar Comics is comprised of a group of artists and writers who love drawing and the creative storytelling process. We are college students and recent graduates of Texas A&M University who enjoy making comics and sharing our art with people.

We take our projects seriously and try to create the most professional products we are capable of producing given the time we have. We do not do this full-time, nor sustain a living off of it. We work on these projects in between classes and jobs, purely for the love of the game. If people happen to read our work and enjoy the comics we produce, then that just makes it that much more fulfilling.

Lunar Comics has switched from a printed format to web-comic format, publishing exclusively online. Our goal is to maintain a daily schedule Monday through Fridays, featuring a different comic each day. In addition, our artists also attend and sell artwork at various comic conventions local to Texas, including Aggiecon and Wizard World Texas.

 Ruben DeLuna - Editor-in-Chief / Artist

Ruben DeLuna is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University where he received his Masters degree in Visualization Sciences and his Bachelors degree in Marketing. He worked as a cartoonist and graphic artist for six years at the university newspaper, The Battalion (thebatt.com), and was the Graphics Editor for four years. His comic strip “Fish” was the longest-running in the paper’s history and resulted in the publishing of two compilation books. He currently works as a freelance illustrator and graphic artist in the San Francisco Bay Area. His most recent projects include work on an educational children’s website for Free Range Graphics (freerangegraphics.com), and illustrating a series of comic books for Moronik Comiks (moronik.com).

Ruben has been making comic books since age four. In high school, he started printing under the "publisher" of Lunar Comics. The idea was resurrected in the summer of 2003, as he began recruiting fellow artists and writers from his contacts at The Battalion with a similar vision of producing comics.

Victor Van Scoit - Associate Editor / Writer

Vic is a Texas A&M graduate with a degree in Computer Science who currently works as a Sales Engineer in the IT Operations industry. In college, he co-wrote a daily comic strip titled “Simel and Lewis” for the university newspaper, The Battalion (thebatt.com). He has continued to polish his writing skills, and has since scripted an educational planetarium show for the National Science Foundation (nsf.gov). He has continued to pursue his dream of being a writer by acting and writing for independent short films and comic books.

Vic has handled editing duties on the majority of Lunar Comics projects including: “Not Quite Normal”, “All Powerful”, “Don’t Shoot the Messenger” and the upcoming “Mercury”. He is also a co-writer on “Don’t Shoot the Messenger”, along with Ruben DeLuna.

 Seth Freeman - Web Designer

Seth Freeman is a Texas A&M Computer Engineering graduate who has recently retuned to work on his Masters in Visualization Sciences after working in the game industry for a little over a year. Seth has worked on "Not Quite Normal" as the colorist and will return to those duties for the upcoming issues as well as taking on webmastering duties for the site.
